Boron carbide nanowires from castor oil for optronic applications: a low‐temperature greener approach

The development of one-dimensional nanostructures has revolutionized electronic and photonic industries because their unique properties. present paper reports the low-temperature green synthesis boron carbide nanowires, diameter 14 nm length 2 µm, by condensation method using castor oil as carbon precursor. nanowires synthesized exhibit beaded chain morphology, bandgap energy 2.08 eV revealed through Tauc plot analysis. structure is micro-Raman, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopic, X-ray diffraction analyses. thermogravimetric analysis sample reveals excellent thermal stability. photoluminescence study nanowire’s blue light emission capability under ultraviolet excitation, which substantiated CIE suggesting its potential in applications.
